Angel Wings

Angel mural

It's not about the wings but the photos that result from the wings. Then again, it is all about the activity of creating wings? How many wing makers are there in the community? What sort of engagement would wing making provide? And the results are the sorts of photo people keep, "remember that day in 2022 on Love Island".

This is what I propose.

  • Seek permission from the land owner next to the shop to erect wings on his vacant land.
  • I have enough tree timber to build a frame to support a canvas.
  • A 3 x 4 metre white tarp is $200.

As a photographer, I'm willing to fund up to the erected white canvas. Great value prop for all of us.

It doesn't need to be a "forever" project. Something strong enough to go a year. At $200 per canvas we might have future contributors to new canvass and different artists.

The white tarp doesn't need expensive paint. House paint is more than decent. Inline with the mission, the project should maximise the engagement with the community. So why not go door to door collecting old house paint.

Doesn't hurt to have angel wings about in a community that is tightly bound with friendships and family. Indeed, an Island of people looking at photos of themselves with angel wings may well make positive contribution to community mood.
